Silvertone Colorama Model 653
Kentucky Blue

The Silvertone Colorama model 653 is nicknamed "Kentucky Blue". It is an archtop acoustic guitar made by Kay. The vibrant blue sparkle color and unique design was borrowed from the 50s auto industry. It was available in the Sears catalog from 1955 to 1962. The body is 3-ply maple with F holes with a rosewood fretboard.
This guitar is extremely clean. It plays well and is loud and even sounding. The neck is on the fuller side, does not appear to have been reset, and does not look to need it. The nut has a small chip on the high E string and may be a replacement. The nut width is 1.67 inches. Includes a non original chipboard case.
