Kay Barney Kessel K6700B Artist

Blonde

1957/1958

The Kay Barney Kessel signature models were very high quality guitars produced between 1957 and 1960. This K6700B Artist model in blonde finish is much less common than the sunburst finish. It is in all original condition except two of the Melita bridge thumbscrews have been replaced with period correct ones. Includes what appears to the the original case. Overall, the guitar is very clean and plays well. The highly regarded "Kleenex Box" single coil pickups are warm and jazzy in the neck position while the bridge is well suited for rock and blues. The set neck is a medium c profile. There are two lines on each side of the neck where it joins the body. See pictures. After evaluation, we feel there is no issue structurally and the neck is very stable. This is common on guitars with extensions over raised fingerboards.
