Vox Ultrasonic XII V275

Sunburst

1960s

The Vox V275 Ultrasonic XII 12 string semi-hollow electric guitar was a short lived model in 1967 and 1968. It was made in Italy by EKO and features a range of built in on-board effects including a palm controlled wah, percussion repeater (choppy tremolo), distortion, treble booster, and E tuner. It was Vox's attempt at an upscale 335 type guitar but without the center block. Each knob controls the amount of effect or speed in the case of the percussion repeater. The two Vox Ferro-Sonic pickups are controlled with a 3-way selector, a single volume and two tone controls. There is a Bigsby like tremolo.

As most of our Vox and EKO guitars for sale, this guitar was purchased in the 80s from Lo Duca Brothers as customer returned new stock. Overall it is a lot of fun to play and sounds fantastic. The neck is slim and comfortable. The effects take a 9 volt battery. The distortion ranges from overdrive to distortion to fuzz. The percussion repeater sounds like a choppy, infinite repeating tremolo at lower speeds and like a machine gun at higher speeds.
