Gibson Super V CES
Sunburst
1980
The Gibson Super V CES features a Gibson L-5 body with a Super 400 neck and two humbucker pickups. The Super V was developed for players wanting the tone and feel of a Super 400 but with the smaller body size of an L-5. They were manufactured between 1978 and 1985.
This example from 1980 is very clean with few signs of play wear, scratches, dings, or dents. It has been set up by a luthier for 12s and plays wonderfully. The sound is full and woody with excellent clarity and detail.
The guitar has had some changes though. The pickguard has crumbled. It will be in a bag in the case. A replacement guard will be included but not installed. The "fingers" bridge is a replacement. Holes from the previous bridge have been filled as seen in the pics. The bottom strap button has been replaced. The Schaller tuners are not original. The high quality hard case is most likely not original.
