Gibson Firebird Bicentennial
Ebony
1976
This guitar has been in storage for decades and is very clean overall. There are a few dings on the back and some wear on the gold plated hardware as seen in pictures. Otherwise, there are few signs of play wear. All original condition including the hard shell case. The CTS pots date to 1976. One strap button has been relocated from the top of the body to the rear.
The Bicentennial Firebird was produced between 1976 and 1979 and marks the return of the reverse body shape since the Medallion Firebirds in 72 & 73. Per Gibson, "the original pickups deliver a broad tonal range—bright and snappy when pushed, yet full and clear when played clean. Bicentennial models featured a standard Alnico Firebird pickup in the neck position (6.085k) and a sidewinder-style ceramic pickup in the bridge position (6.055k). This unique combination provides a range of tones—from single-coil-like clarity in the neck to focused punch and drive in the bridge".
