Fender Swinger

Candy Apple Red

1969

This 1969 Fender Swinger, also known as the Musiclander and Arrow, is all original. It is well played with various nicks, blemishes, and scuffs as shown in the pics. It is set up well and the truss rod works.

The Fender Swinger was born out of the need to save costs and recycle surplus parts. In 1969, Fender had piles of short scale (22.5") necks intended for a student range of guitars. For the body, a Musicmaster or Bass V body was run through the band saw to slice a curve from the bottom and another from the left horn. Regular Musicmaster parts were used for the rest of the guitar. Only about 300-500 of these were produced. They were never in a catalog and were most likely handed to Fender reps to sell.
