Fender Champ 5C1

1953

This 1953 Champ "600" includes all original components and is in working condition. The installed speaker is period correct from the 1950's due to the original needing a recone. The original Permaflux 6L speaker will be included with the sale for you to recone if you wish. See pics. All tubes are vintage.

This amp sounds fantastic and has a surprising amount of headroom until around 5 on the volume. Then, the glorious tweed overdrive kicks in and continues to get more musical as the volume is pushed past 9. This amp is ideal for home practice or recording.

The 5C1 champ was produced between 1953 and 1955 and features 4 watts of power, a 6 inch speaker, a single volume knob, and two inputs. The tubes are 6SJ7, 6V6GT, and 5Y3GT and are all vintage.

Since this amp has its original components, it is highly advisable to get it serviced for safety and reliability as the electrical component values have likely drifted outside of specification over time. Therefore, the amp may not perform as it should long term and the chance of damage to critical components is increased.
